Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Budgets should be reviewed?

The SPH and department budgets are not based on current reality, particularly in appliances. At any given time more than 50% of the appliances on our showroom floor are out of stock and it has been like that in my market since BEFORE THE PANDEMIC EVEN STARTED !!! The items our ADC does have is the cr-p that no one wants. Almost impossible to put together a 4 piece suite for anyone. If someone wants either a LG or Whirlpool refrigerator or range than forget it, or tell them maybe by late June or July. Combine that with not being permitted to sell into the negative (XDT market) and Order Replenishment once again being instructed not to put items on manual order unless they have positive on-hands. Every day it's like being asked to tread water for 8 hours with 250 lbs of lead weight attached to you. EXHAUSTING doesn't even come close describing the situation and you can look forward to tomorrow being the same if not worse. And don't even get me started about the never ending supply of 3rd party delivery complaints. My new attitude is look aggressively for the EXIT door and let the whole thing implode. It's just not worth the stress anymore.

I sympathize with the author of this post in thread +1aIJmiDA because I find myself in the same situation every day.

And good luck making the sales per hour numbers in appliances. They've made them ridiculously high so no one will get a bonus. The other appliance specialist in my store quit a few weeks ago because he hasn't gotten a SPH bonus in 3 months and he sells plenty.

Darn near everyone's stock price is up (including HD) so I don't think it is fair to say Marv and his changes are the primary reason for this. LOW is only marginally closer to catching HD under his toolage. Flip side is customer complaints are way up and employee morale is at an all time low. Knowledgeable long time employees exiting in droves and increasing difficulties finding replacements. At my store for each one they hire another one quits. Hard to excel under those conditions.

I echo your sentiments. Such an unattached and far removed corporate office. They know it’s more difficult to attain. They also throw everything thing else at you: credit apps, LPP, PSE leads, Rebath leads, installs, details. More, more, more. Gimme, gimme, gimme. Feed the beast or you’re a-s is gone! Oh...we’re out of everything so sc--w you! “We drove the stock over $200....were sooo good”. Evil bastards.

Hopefully one day this place will go out of buisiness. I got a cigar waiting.

Just their way of eliminating bonus payouts to managers and employees.
