What are your thoughts on all the time and money being spent on Inclusion and Diversity?

Isn't creating special opportunities and programs the same as telling someone they couldn't possibly succeed based solely on their merits and intellect.

@OP It’s smoke and mirrors.

No corporation is going to address the structural issues that drive discriminatory practices, because corporations profit directly and from discrimination and inequality. What we get as a substitute for meaningful structural change are performative gestures of inclusion that irritate everyone and resolve nothing.

@pwqv BUDs is selection, you’ve never been in the SAS (or know anyone who has), and the other people you mentioned (technically) don’t even exist.

Look at the Org chart and top echelon....no body can tell me old white men and token white females are the MOST qualified....any non-white that makes it into those ranks are tokens....if you believe otherwise, you're ignorant! There will NEVER be a non-white running P66 as CEO...or in that upper echelon of decision making....not because they aren't qualified...it's because they will never get an opportunity. Those positions are groomed for people specifically to keep it how it is. When you don't see yourself represented in that upper tier of the Org Chart....you already know not to aspire to it....not in most O&G companies anyhow.

I worked there for 30 yrs. I know exactly how much time it takes to do the jobs in my area. The woke indoctrination programs and overhead training takes up 48% of their work week. You can never finish a job. Meetings and training always are scheduled for 9or10AM and 2or3PM. Those times cause the greatest inefficiency. It takes time to start up and shut down and then start up and shut down again. A one hour meeting/training session can easily take two hours to get back to work. Overhead meeting/training took 5% of the work week when I started in the 80s. Now it's almost 50%. The woke and progressives have created a culture of half time employees at full pay. This environment is not sustainable for long.

Best and brightest only. Dont care about colour or which of the two genders you are.If test scores say that 10 Asians are the most capable and qualified then 10 Asians to fill those jobs. Hiring based on colour or check box status is cr-p. Just wait till there is a mandatory draft or conscription; do you want your gear made by who is best at it or fit the narrative of making everyone who wasnt even qualified hired. Thank God selection for SAS, BUDs, or Delta Force is so hard and rigorous as its designed to create cohesion,unity,and the most capable only.

Women make up 13 percent of all engineering graduates but we’re pushing for half of our engineers to be female. If I say this publicly I will suffer severe consequences. We can’t possibly be hiring the best and brightest
