A person I know is moving to another state for a new job. He quit for what he believes is a better opportunity. Considering this is Allstate, I'm sure it is but I don't think this is the right time to move for any kind of a job - even within your current company and not to mention new. We don't know what's going to happen in the next year or two. The economy may recover but there can be more waves and things can get worse once again. Imagine finding yourself in a situation where you are in a new town with your family with no support network and you are suddenly out of a job. I wouldn't do it.

OP this is the perfect time to do it. More remote roles than ever, and you can move somewhere more tax friendly with a better job market. No reason not to consider it.
home office shills out here trying to stop the catastrophic turnover. the exodus will continue. can't stop won't stop.
With the admin now I'm office, we can bet the economy isn't going to recover any time soon
So you wouldn't do it but that is you and your opinion. If someone is moving from Idaho or the Dakotas or Arkansas..it may benefit them to move to a place with more opportunities. Some ppl are not afraid to take risks.
Yes ffr+1aMwsU7s in most cases it is fake news. There are people who have been laid off who are deciding to wait until Aug when the extra $300 expires, but that % is small. Some have decided to retire early and will collect unemployment for as long as they can. The larger % is parents who don't have stable childcare now so they've decided to go with one income until schools reopen in the fall. I think the lack of stable childcare is a huge factor for many.
The core of this company and their behaviors towards employees is rotten. Make your own path don’t wait on x,y,z to find employment that aligns with your beliefs/values. Be gone HO shill with your BS post!
Agree. That's exactly what Allstate did to California employees and making them move to Arizona to keep their jobs. And then after they got their use out of them sprung these assessments on them and laid off a lot of the ones that up and moved...SUCKAS!!
I've been hearing in the news that there are a ton of jobs out there but they cannot find people to take them because the government dole pays better.
Is this fake news?
