Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

Former Kroger's employees, where are you now?

I hope you all found much better jobs after Kroger?

The job at Kroger was admittedly only a temporary job for me and when the company started turning to online ambitions, then I started looking for an alternative. I don’t even know why I ever worked at this company because now I see I could have done so much better.

It has been nearly 4 years since I was laid off at a Kroger division and I've been doing okay at best. Fortunately, I got a surprisingly generous severance package, so that helped. But unlike the majority of layoff victims, I was prepared. I have a dividend investing portfolio that pays me approximately $600/month, so that has helped a lot. I started doing freelance work which also brings in some income, but it's irregular work at best. I haven't looked hard for a new job (ugh!), but I will probably get one even if part-time, as my current income model isn't sustainable in the long term.
