Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

Yes, Cummins is a horrible company to work for

Middle management abuse the employees play contentious mind games. Every department was ordered to cut 10% of the workforce before years end of 2021. Managers have tried to overwhelm and overwork people to try and get them to quit. If someone dies they just move some from another department. It is the most horrible, disrespectful thing when someone passes away to see managers send an email with just a see below statement from someone else’s email about that employee passing away. “Oh by the way see below the person who had this job before died”. What they don’t tell you in the job description is the high stress endured and working in this environment exposes you to cancerous materials. The company’s insurance is absolutely horrible however they do have a su----e and mental health hotline to assist with any other stress and issues that you will have during employment. The su----e and cancer rate is very high. Stay away from this employer, they Misrepresent and lie about the job. Continuously change your role & duties to an unmanageable level. The pay scale is the lowest in the industry and don’t let them for you by saying the job is less than normal and the pay represents that.

Well said, @1uqu+1aJGoqqw.

Just remember, they will keep all the people of color and the Columbus / Purdue fraternities regardless if they are sh---y and will fire good people. This is where they went wrong and it has cost them in productivity and loyalty. You can replace 10 cr---y people with 5-6 good ones if you treat them with fairness and respect. Their diversity inclusion coordinators (whether you know they exist or not...they do) will only protect people of color...black.

The other problem is that the company found out during the covid work at home how many employees they could do without by the amount of work that was being done. Here's an example your boss ask where is so and so and the others say oh joe or jane went to SEP for this or that and then the boss goes oh okay. In his mind he is thinking your following up on work or other work in regard to whatever project he wanted you to do. But in reality you could easily be spending most of those hours at home meeting friends at SEP and not truly doing the work. But with them to know what work and how much you are doing from working online and from home, they can see how much work your are truly doing.

So now, a dept. that has 8 people they can say you only need 6 or 5 to do the amount of work that is coming out of the dept.. This is also going to hurt alot of the nepotism that has loaded up alot of these admin jobs both salary and hourly to get family members a job. Now it's out of the managers hand who is going to get fired because it's coming from corporate. Even if they had a say and not fire a family member. Their job is on the line because now that half loser of a family member who couldn't do the job in the first place will have to hold his own and carry alot more work and if not it could show on the manager.

I heard that headcount is being downsized in phases all this year. Your Manager won’t know when it’s being implemented. Cause he/she could be included. It’s all coming from headquarters in Indy. If you get an email from HR to meet with them on a set date and time: you’re gone.
