Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Don't wait!

I wasted nearly five years of my life at this company. Five years under a horrible manager with no management skills, five years of unrealistic goals, and five years of poisonous team dynamics. When it started affecting my health, I realized it was time to take ANY job available just to get away. Despite the pay cut I took (about 20%) I have never been happier. I have my life back. I have a normal manager, good team, and I am once again enjoying what I do. So the grass is greener on the other side. If you're in a similar position I was in, you should try and find out.

Smart move if you can do it. Good for you !

Problem here is most people have real-life responsibilities and cannot take a cut in pay that is so substantial. Be patient with your job search. It won’t happen overnight, but I promise there are comparable options available if you wait for it.

yeah i got a kid going to college this year and another one not far behind. i can't take a 20 percent cut.

so I'm going to find a job that doesn't involve a paycut

Great advice! I personally like my job but agree, if anyone is unhappy and it's affecting your health find another job you can be happy at
