I know so many of you have never been laid off before. I know you are worried about layoffs and what they might mean for you and your family. So take it from somebody who has been through not one, not two, but three layoffs in his nearly four-decades long career: it's not the end of the world. Yes, it hurts at first. It's scary. But then - with the support of those around you - things start to look brighter. You remember all the bad things and realize that they are gone as well. You start looking for a new job and eventually you get it. And you move on. The only thing your previous workplace becomes is a bad memory.

I was laid off last year at a D band and found a job in 3 months making a lot more. I was mainly sad because of all the great people not actually leaving the company. A few weeks in not being at Allstate made me realize how nice it was not to deal with all the political cr-p that use to stressed me out. Needless to say I’m better off now and thank them for giving me the push to find something better.
Allstate has no vision whatsoever about what to do in the auto claims department. They’re currently offering appraisers their jobs back across the country and looking to fill hundreds of open positions for auto appraisers to work from home because there’s so many pending inspection assignments out there. They laid off too many people last November . Plus, lots of adjusters quit due to the horrible work environment. LOL
Let us not forget that it is not India's fault what is happening to them. They are human beings so have a little compassion Post ID: @wve+1aOBrIRl. They are the second most populated country in the world!
Layoffs are never fun, but not the end of the world, like op said. If you're worried about being laid off, it's never too late to start looking for alternate employment
You sound like a real loser.
Layoffs can honestly be a good opportunity to take some time and really consider what is best for you moving forward career wise.
People need to make lemon aid out of lemons
Helping Hands asking for donations to help India with their C-19 outbreak....are they kidding? How about them donating their jobs back to the states!!
Great advice, OP. I very much share your perspective. Hopefully, those who find themselves in such predicament will take comfort in your message. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for this. It IS important to remember this. I have been through one about ten years ago and it seemed like the end of the world at the time. If I go through it again it will sting but it will be ok.
