This is not the best job available but it is not the worst either. Why so many here feel the constant need to complain is beyond me. If you are that unhappy why aren't you looking for a new job every spare minute you have? I'm happy I have a job when so many don't. I worry about layoffs but who doesn't? Get some perspective, folks.

All the sudden "they care".If they really cared they would have paid to fix all these issues years ago.Ive got lil old ladies scared to DEATH,that something might happen to them and they wont be able to contact anyone cause their phone doesnt work.Not because of service issues,because the OS is garbage.But we will roll out techs(mostly contractors)and assure them that it will fixed magically somehow.Service tickets after service tickets unresolved,unanswered.What if that was youre mom or grandma?Place is a disgrace to the term Telecommunications.Should change the name to "The Company".Cant figure out phone,cable works sometimes(unless its "advanced technology")and internet is abysmal at best with all the scabs,heaping up noise in the plant.

Altice if you read this and cared about your employees ! It’s time for a spring cleanup. You’re trainers, management. HR, and safety team need Serious coaching or replacement. It’s absolutely the worst working conditions I’ve ever seen! No help running drops across main roads, no safety equipment, no guidance, no training. Coached for bathroom breaks???????,? Are we serious. All your doing is opening up your self to lawsuits. Wake up. It’s your BUISNESS not mine. Luckily I don’t depend on your sh---y income is benefits, but some do. Spring cleanup up time like you did last week!

If you’re young my advice is to leave. I’m telling you this not to scare you but but no future is here. If you have a family it’s I personally would not stay here. It’s poorly run operation. No one cares about you at all. You can be the best tech ever, but no one , absolutely no one has your back. There is absolutely no direction at all from any management ( who ever is left) very poor attitudes and no respect. Every one is human and deserves respect especially at work, if you can’t get that Leave. It won’t be easy but better, I hope you find something that fits your needs. This place is an absolute disgrace.

WOW I can’t believe how people are leaving ! I know of 2 more people leaving Long Island shops. I can’t believe it came to this. But I don’t blame anyone for bettering themselves! I was told by a senior guy to get out cause I’m young! What amazes me is how hard I tried and nothing is good enough. Maybe it’s time to replace all management and safety management, plus Human Resources on Long Island, I asked for a 9 volt battery and could not get it( none in stock) what are management collecting paychecks for if you can’t do your Job. I’m lost on what to do? Stay or go. Opinions?

Lol what Kool aid The guys here less than 5 years don’t have a clue. Worst job I’ve ever worked for, at this point it took me 7 months and I finally found something my time here will be done next month. Long Island has Absolutely no direction. Management is a joke, Human Resources tells you the company is going in a different direction WTF does that mean! All I wanted was for a fiber class. Plenty I mean plenty of jobs on Long Island. Just go on indeed type in fiber. They will take you in a heartbeat plus most of the companies have experienced unions. It appears Altice won’t be around much longer with this insane customer service. We’re in a pandemic and I’m told to charge everyone , yea that’s not going to happen. Peoples lives are more important than greed!

I also left last week OSP no more nonsense for me , No management, no safety, no direction, no answers to anything. Long Island, I’m done mentally not worth the grief. You can’t get answers from management, Human Resources, or safety, Most disrespectful people in the company. Who am I to call I email HR no response m, I emailed safety management. No Response . So it’s not my loss It’s actually my gain. I feel horrible about anyone left here. Good luck with safety and training or anything that’s left. I’m officially out off to a better career but I am notifying OSHA on safety management team. No answers to anything! . I have unanswered emails and texts. This is no way to operate especially when you are trying to do the right thing. It’s ok I’m out I am officially filing a complaint about Long Island management and safety. Lots of Stuff going on that people turn a blind Eye too. Missing equipment ETC OSHA will be notified with missing equipment. And serious safety hazards. Good luck men you will need it.

Telecom isn't a bad field but that is not the point. Altice is a BAD COMPANY. No matter how you swing it, they suck and there is absolutely no future. I left the company almost a year ago after being there for over a decade and the decision was a no brainer. I would encourage anyone with an opportunity to leave to do so because anywhere you go and anything you do after Altice will benefit you way more than sticking around in this dumpster fire.

I also left in the last 2 weeks, over 22 years. I was trained in all aspects of the company. I felt there is no future and the constant wasting my time with no advancement, made me make my decision. I already picked up a better job with a future. I wish all of my fellow techs the best. There truly is a better life. Good luck 👍

Everyone there is just a number to them, and no one is special, sorry if you feel like it, but your not. They will let anyone go.

I was hired by another company and it's been good, they love the level of craftsmanship that I bring. I come back to this thread to tell people that life after Altice can happen, and encourage others who still work there to keep your head up and don't destroy your fellow co-workers.

No job is perfect but Altice is a broken company with a broken culture.

Exactly what about the guys who did 25+ years. I know no job security. Don’t drink Kool aid. Drink the little barrel drinks. Then you will think that you are safe. Probably don’t even have a supervisor to report to. They probably sh-t canned them to!

the thing is the installers or service techs have always had a high turn over rate. its been a issue finding reliable people that know what they are doing even before altice. just now they want contractors. they just happen to be worse. really i haven't seen a single one of them even attempt to learn more about what they are doing. so is it altice fault? in a way yea. how much of the blame is altice or just the avg tech that doesnt give a sh-t? id say something like 70% altice 30% tech.
