Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Would you accept a job at one of our main competitors?

I'm at the point where Allstate has soured me on the entire industry. I have an option to switch to one of our competitors but I'm thinking of passing and waiting until I can find something completely different. Also, how different can they be, truly? Look at their forums here, they seem to have the exact same issues as we do. So why bother?

Other carriers are run much better, this is the biggest dumpster fire I have ever been a part of. Chances are you will have a better experience almost anywhere

Trust me. They swap insurance employees at all the Illinois companies like a juggler. If you think SFarm is not doing th “transformation” cr-p your wrong.

I honestly think Allstate is trying to get better with the extra $100 per month in your pay for internet and work from home expenses starting this summer and the free home office equipment upgrades that become permanently yours (Good Office program) but with Glenn Shapiro at the helm I think the ceiling for that is sadly low.

I have worked at Nationwide, Progressive, and now Allstate in somewhat similar roles. Personally to me Progressive was the most toxic environment out of the three but best pay and middle benefits. Nationwide had the worst benefits and worst pay but best environment. Allstate is in the middle in environment and pay and best benefits. Out of the three I would rather work at Allstate however it is a terrible place in itself and lack of advancement and constant threats of layoffs all make it miserable. Allstate seems thus far to be the most inclusive and diverse being a Hispanic American of the three places. My suggestion is give it a shot in another industry. After reading the State Farm and other insurance carriers boards here I will never go with another insurance company for my career.

I'm guessing it's state farm lol. I hate to say it but reviews don't lie. If you see a lot of bad reviews on Glassdoor and here really listen and consider what they are saying
