Thread regarding Bass Pro Shops layoffs

Thanks Bass Pro

So when we switched from cabela's to bass, it wasn't good enough that you took a week of vacation away from most of us, now you're taking our yearly raises away. Are you trying to get us to quit?

Learning also to not care about shrinkage. It's not like I would get anything extra anyway if I did make more effort to watch for shoplifters and such. Corporate does not care, why should I?

Bps and owners are a BIG JOKE they do not care about anyone but opening another store in another state, theybworkbeveryone like dogs, how many other store had food for there employees on Monday May 31? Ours did but it was due to the CLUB manager bought the stuff not the managers or the owner of all the stores, that should show you they don't care for anyone but there self and there family, we are not there family.

Buy an island for a resort that most employees could not afford to vacation on. Company is treating us like dirt.

Well of course you don't get a raise, BP is to busy buying new companies. And if not buy companies, they are making new positions at Corporate for all the Cabelas managment to be promoted into. Then they can hire more managers and VPs to come up with great ideas for you to start doing at your job. And as you know all those 6 and 7 figure salaries along with bonuses don't come cheap. So its nice of you to give up your raise so all the Upper business can send their kids to private schools, take ski trips, buy new cars/ homes.

For the outfitter who is blaming BPS for the loss of the week vacation. We at BPS incurred the same as the Cabelas outfitters. Along with other changes. I wish they wouldn’t have purchased Cabelas! We are the biggest Sh-t Show I have ever seen. Management is there but not there. HR has become a joke from what I see on this site seems wide spread. I will say every retailer and restaurant is begging for workers. The people they are bringing in new have zero experience and don’t care. I hope they get it together soon. I really think that corporate has no idea what is going on in these stores. Start sending people from corporate to talk to the outfitters. Without announcing they are coming. Alphabetical list of employees and start asking questions. You would learn a lot about what is really going on. Outfitters are running these stores while management puts their heads in the sand.

Basspro is doing everything it can to not be competitive right now. Full time employees are making less than gas station attendants. The company was late to the game on covid response and now it’s late to the game on the employee crysis. We are a retail specialist with no more specialists.

Just saw a grocery store in a semi-rural MAgMA town that is paying $15 an hour. I make less than that and I live in a yuppie seacoast location. What the ? No raise for me either this past year. Seriously thinking of going somewhere else if I can make sure my health insurance needs are covered. Many places are paying much more than BP for the comparative workload. It is messed up how this company is painting itself into a corner with the way it tries to retain employees. When the recession hits, look at few people will still want to work here.
