Thread regarding Freddie Mac layoffs

New Employees that are not near an office

Does anyone know what are the plans for the new employees who are not near a Freddie Mac office? Will they be forced to move where there is an office or laid off? (I know of a situation where the person lied about living in Virginia to get hired).

When the office is reopened for staff to be there twice a week at the end of March, those who haven't taken steps to comply will be terminated. Plan now or expect them to lose their jobs.

Just get the facts straight. Remote is not permanent. If you can't, it is very simple, look for another job.

Got an update, those people will be given 1 year to relocate once we are all permanently back in the office in September

Just about all the job descriptions say something like remote for now but you’re gonna have to eventually come in.

If the person lied, then that's grounds for termination.

No, that person is not me. Doesn't seem right if I talk to my manger about another employee that lied to gain employment

Is that person you? As HR would say, talk to your manager. You won't get a straight answer.
