Has anybody else heard rumors that more layoffs are coming this month?

Yeah, some variation of the “she’ll be sold for parts soon” story has been floating around for years. The fact that nobody has stepped up to buy Quest or parts of her when money is so cheap to borrow, and has been for many years, should tell you that the market for Quest is not an extensive one and with a much reduce RD budget that market it not likely to grow with the passage of time.
Oh I’m sure Quest will one day be sold, but it will not be a saving grace for Quest employees when she is.
They are shopping the company for sale and it may be split up with FP maybe keeping OI and merging it with one of their other portfolio companies. They are trying to pitch Qorestor as a data replication product?!? It will be a trade sale to another investment firm. They've made what they can out of it and there is a lot of money looking for a home so they will sell it and they will make money out of the investment.
Quest has been in decline since 2007 and has showed no signs of being a growing company in the past decade. Both Dell and FB fooled themselves into thinking they could make a profit buying Quest. Dell payed 2 billion for Quest alone and sold it and most of DSG to FB for 1 billion. FB ran the PE playbook and have managed to keep a sinking boat afloat by throwing people overboard. I am sure they are patting themselves on the back while telling their investors what a great job they have managed to do. But let’s be real nobody can restore Quest to what she once was. That boat has sailed. Most of the great minds are gone, momentum for new products evaporated years ago all that is left to do is “sales blitzes” to keep the lights on.
"Innovate or perish". One Identity and MPM/DB mgmt seem to keep the company relevant. If only all sales teams and engineers knew as much as they did prior to joining dell and afterwords..
Most of the great engineers I knew were let go a while back in DP when it was profitable. Their are some great people on the Metalogix Team also (shutout to Delair if he's still there).
Ive heard more than once One ID is the golden goose and the only reason FP and EM purchased DSG/Quest. Hope they keep great minds around and eliminate middle management waste. a team, team lead and director is all a LOB should need in addition to their channel reps, etc. If someone needs to be micromanaged by a 25-35 year old "babysitter", that's a problem. Performance should speak for itself. Thoughts?
The new executive team has no clue what the company actually does not do they care to learn. Their goal is to outsource as much engineering as possible to lower costs. This revenue is to be used to support expansion in the two new companies Quest just purchased. I could not in good faith recommend anyone take a job at Quest.
The answer is yes. They are closing whole office in Ostrava.
@2sjd+1ad1GPc6 - their products are virtually all in maintenance mode. Their pay is at the lower end of the scale and there is zero job security. Layoffs in all departments are a constant factor in daily life at Quest. Run away!
Oh gosh, sorry to hear all this. I had been thinking of applying to Quest as we use some of their products. Which areas got hit? What percentage of people was this?
I hate to be mean, but this is Quest. Layoffs are always just around the corner.
The question is how many?
They only have layoffs in months that end in Y, R, E, T, and H so you should be save this month.
I'll be overjoyed if the answer is no.
