I find our management funny when they try to convince us that the situation in the company is much better than it actually is. Almost all of us see how things stand, but they try in various ways to convince us that they have everything under control. It’s their job, of course, but lately they’re less and less convincing.

This is nothing new, it's part of the GM culture. I can remember year after year hearing at all people meetings that GM current performance is not very good, but we're on the right track because of the new vehicles coming out the next year. Then when those vehicles didn't perform as expected, we'd get the same message the next year.
How about the articles that aren't an advertisement for GM. Mass layoffs and plant closings followed by a major strike followed by corona virus followed by a chip shortage. Bad News Motors!
I'm not sure what you're talking about. At the moment - especially after 2019 layoffs, we're staying afloat. Have you heard anything to suggest something bad is about to happen?
