Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Wake up People

Colorado CWA is a complete joke! They haven’t protected us or negotiated a fair contract in years. They did sell the union hall because they aren’t collecting enough dues because people keep getting laid off and leaving the company because there is absolutely NO job security here. They have constantly shown their true colors by folding to the company and “negotiating” s..t contracts. It’s only a matter of time before the company breaks this union. The less members the less dues the less money and before you know it the union is dead. Anyone with half a brain can see what’s going on with this company. They can’t sell it because no one wants it so the next option is to destroy it from the inside out. Hire cheap contractors who do trash work and make the in house techs and workers jump through pointless hoops to make their numbers bad so they can set up an action plan to start the firing process. Mean while offer VSPP to the older techs and workers who are just thankful to leave with something until there is no one left except contractors. Either that or until the customers get so sick of the garbage service they go to another company and Lumen is forced to bankrupt this sector which is their endgame anyway. Once that happens that s..t contract becomes null and void anyway so anyway you spin it we lose and the company with their greedy executives get what they want. Corporate America at its finest.

Get Out while you still can!!! It’s only a matter of time and if you think otherwise then good luck to you because you’re gonna need it.

Yet the government continues with it's corporate welfare. How do they justify years of layoffs caused by their bad management and collect the millions that they do? I sure hope they get their justice in the end.

Yet who ratifies these "$h!t contracts? The members! I you don't like what "your" union is negotiating for you stand up and fight...or you could sit back and complain like the best union member ever.

That's a good question, everyone I have talked to in the field says they vote now, yet they get passed, I know they always offer carrots up to sales and other business office people however. The high stress positions with high turnover. The ones that typically never see the carrot since it is at the top of the wage scale which takes years to reach and most can't get there.

Same in Phoenix. Complete joke
I left last year and never looked back. The union meetings in my town had the damn supervisor at the them. Union reps only helped themselves.
