How do you find out if it will be offered to you?

I read there are 3 reasons why companies use voluntary reduction. If you volunteer to leave the company I believe you forfeit any rights to claim unemployment so the company saves money not having to pay unemployment. They also do it to avoid lawsuits and make the layoffs seem nicer. And last they do it to try and save their image as opposed to doing a straight massive layoff. All benefits are to the company not the employee. I would be very cautious of a voluntarily reduction.... especially if it means you forfeit claiming unemployment.

It’s a mess because some states won’t pay unemployment until SEVERANCE is exhausted

I agree with the last response. Watch out for the fine print if you accept whatever this new package is. If what they are offering does involve unemployment as supplemental, that makes sense since Anthem would save money. Due to COVID, the unemployment benefits are more than usual and for a longer period of time. Anthem only pays the difference under supplemental if your state approves your unemployment claim. Also, from I understand of the layoffs, if you find another job prior to the supplemental and unemployment running out, Anthem will only pay out 50% of what you are due.

SERVERANCE IS NOT THE SAME AS SUPPLEMENTAL. SUPPLEMENTAL INVOLVES UNEMPLOYMENT ––WHICH MAKES NOT SENSE TO ME... SEVERANCE DOES NOT. BE CAREFUL WITH THE WORDING. "VOLUNTARILY LEAVING THE COMPANY??? YOU MIGHT WANT TO VERIFY WHAT THIS MEANS AS FAR AS BENEFITS??? CAN YOUY RECEIVE UNEMPLOYMENT IF YOU QUIT YOUR JOB??? ANTHEM DOES NOT APPROVE YOUR UNEMPLOYMENT VEC DOES.

We didnt get any word on how much, I think you have to ask for it and then they tell you. If it was enough Id take it but not if its just a month or so of pay.
