I was with SEA for most of my adult life and was impacted in the major layoffs last year. I’ve moved on since then, found a job that is decent with pay and benefits but my heart is not in it. I no longer give my all the way I did for SeaWorld. I can’t find it in myself to do so. It may seem sad that I can’t get over how betrayed I feel. Many will just tell me to get over it. But there are some things that change a person. Being laid off after having spent the majority of your life in one job is traumatic on many levels. Life does go on, people do move on, but there are some things that leave scars. For me that was one of them.
It's a loss
You need to go thru the stages of grief so you can move on. I get it, it's a part of your life and memories. I worked there for 11 years and I still am close with some of my ex co–workers. It's like a bad break up and it leaves you unable to give your all.
