Thread regarding Cengage layoffs

Campus Vaccine requirements

The schools in my territory are requiring vaccine compliance in order to conduct our calls in person on campus. Since this 'vaccine' isn't a common vaccine and does not consist of inactive covid virus particles, I'm worried because I don't want to inject my body with whatever MRNA they've manifested. What is in this stuff? People are getting blood clots, miscarriages, sudden death etc. I'd rather take my chances with the 'virus'.
What am I supposed to do? I'm a single mom and can't afford to get sick from an untested 'vaccine' with a zero liability clause.
When 'science' destroys my life who will take care of my children?

Gale's entire business model is built on libraries and schools spending thousands of dollars on content that can be easily found on the open web.

As a long term brilliant and clever female employee of Cengage Learning I want to vent my frustration. Ever since we've gone to strictly zoom office environments and stay at home work space I'm finding it increasingly difficult if not impossible to accuse any male employees of harassment. How am I going to remain the center of attention, be protected by HR or even get promoted again if I can't do it with the tried and true vehicle of false harassment accusations and attention seeking sympathy ploys? When can we go back to the office and circulate among men so I can get my career on track again?

InfoTrac. What a joke. Do those nimrods at Gale still act like anyone cares about it?

Greetings,

After several long and fruitful discussions with members of the executive team and several handpicked employee representatives we have decided to reward employees with free access to Gale’s Infotrack database to learn more about the voluntarily vaccine that will soon be required of all employees.

Because Cengage is the leader in the EdTech space we are able to grant this access to our valued employees in lieu of any cash incentive plans this quarter. Your manager or HR business partner is available to answer any questions you may have.

Yes it is legal, but mandates may vary by state. Recently a young bartender, I believe in Boston, was terminated for not getting a vaccine. Her concern was around future fertility. She contacted a lawyer who was told she did not have a case. Just an FYI, the mRNA technology has been around for 30 years. People need to do their own research. Preferably through scientific and medical journals.

@5hnj+1avmSOAy No way. It’s the best troll site going. Secondly lay-offs are so common at Cengage that it’s a certainty you are going to get fired sooner than later. Relax and enjoy the comic relief about one of the most inept organizations in corporate history.

It would be nice if people kept to the topic of LAYOFFS. The sarcasm and snarky comments are getting tired. Thanks.

When I travel on flights, I stand in lines at the airport at least 6 feet apart to check my baggage, then I stand in long lines at security and maintain 6 social separation, then I wait for the flight six feet apart, but as soon as I'm crammed into the disgusting germ laden aluminum tube with recycled air I'm now sitting 3 inches from the infected mouths of those around me for hours and hours and this is safe because SCIENCE... (At the food court though in the airport I can take off my mask sitting down at a table because the virus is aware that I'm now off limits, because SCIENCE)

My favorite is: You will get the vaccine, it's the greatest vaccine of all time, even though it's experimental gene therapy and not a vaccine at all, but even then after you receive this wonderful and effective vaccine you still must wear the mask, because SCIENCE

The best viral avoidance technique is to wear your ineffective mask through campus, and through the classrooms but when you’re sitting down at one of the many food courts at the student union then you can remove your mask since the virus will avoid you when sitting at the restaurant table only because SCIENCE.

Respectfully, you’re in an education field. Please consider doing some research on Covid vaccines from well known medical journals or other legitimate sources. Someone from Gale can probably get you free access to the Infotrac database or you can access it from many public libraries and school campuses. There’s also the CDC web site:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/index.html

It's going to be a moot point when an axe is taken to sales and your job is given to an inside rep who can cover 10X the ground you do and cost 50% of what you cost.

What are you to do? Well, do whatever feels best for you and your situation and ignore the advice givers and the virtue signalers and the know–it–alls. It's your life and your body. Your worry and questioning is understandable. Like everyone you've been told, even pressured, to get vaccinated and then you read stories of problems with the vaccine. (By the way, I find those stories collapse when you look closely at the manipulation of the numbers. I don't think the vaccines have prompted any unusual and extensive side effects to date. Doesn't mean long term they won't.) From the same people applying the get–the–vaccine pressure you're told, almost in their next breath, that even after the vaccine you should wear your mask and social distance. Wait, the vaccine either works or it doesn't. If it works why mask up and social distance and if it doesn't (so I have to keep masking and distancing) why am I being told to get the vaccine? The con does get old. I got the vaccine some time ago. I'm at an age and facing certain health problems where it made sense. If I were under 30, even 35, I wouldn't get it. But in the end, you do what you think best. And hang in there. If you're a good rep you find a way to be successful.

Also, everyone who refers to Cengage as an education or publisher deserves to be fired. Cengage has defined the EdTech space and should be referred to as such. If people don't know what this means tell them it's like Netflix for textbooks. That will help them grasp our ethos.

How is mgmt going to address this issue on campus? If vaccine is required to visit on campus and we refuse the ‘vaccine’ will they eventually terminate us for non compliance?
