dont hire ex-cisco unless you want that politics

Ciena was focused on innovation until 7 yrs ago. Now it is bleeding politics in hunger games like environment.
One tip to people at the top : Dont bring in ex–cisco leaders , unless you want the same decay . Look at the amount of HR cases in past 5 yrs in engineering in San Jose and india. Check glassdoor reviews of india engineering team.
They use their position in Ciena to continue to ruin careers of employees who arent brown_nosing , because ciena doesnt hold its leaders accountable for ethics violation.

The id--t manager in test will say "calm down" , when he cant answer a technical question.
The bay-area team has imported the Indian-way-of working. They create gossip and back-stab their competition , and the Dirs and VP depend on these regular gossip update to evaluate the performance of the employee.
If dir or VP was hired based on merits, the product would have shipped by now.

The team has rotten. They have been eliminating the professional managers. The ones retained are the ones proven to harass own employees.
They felt eliminating good PLM, engg managers, Sales, markaeting , will fix the product.. but the problem continued.

Shows the ability of the top boss in understanding where the problem is. Everytime engineers or manager leaves, we hope they will fix the problem.. but the disappoint continues.

the Leadership in bay area is complete zero. The VP engg and test team leaders has created favoritism . very sad. The good mgrs have left the team. If leaders find anyone better than them.. they make them leave. The leaders are waste of money, but good for their favorite employees.

problem with having a leader of organization supporting worship_mentality. it will make skilled employees leave.
And since they break rules to get in and stay in, they will also use unimaginable methods to retaliate . They have no limit.
Bay area location is ripe with such people at the top.

It is same at Ottawa office. There are Cisco employees who never ever complete their work and shove it on other people's plate. Such people are getting promoted that too in engineering is astonishing . Seems that boss worshipping does work at Ciena .

High crimes from men in high places. They say "no rules/laws were broken". That's because the people, sorry criminals breaking them, are the ones making them up.
if one joins this place, they wont find any other job offer.. because of high people will ensure that.

LOL... it is simple really, Indian culture is to worship the boss. Provide expensive offerings /gifts and sing hymns about this God.
The ciena leaders in bay–area and india have god_complex. Indians know how to manage it. That is why we Indians excel in getting a job in bay area , compared to people who grew up thinking technical skills are needed to get a job.

ciena dont care what you think. Their cajones are polished everyday by the Cisco leaders. It doesnt matter if customers run away or engineers, managers resign. The san jose location is a facade for their retirement community with mediocre performance. Retaliation drama from the sugar_pie who learnt these from his cisco Dir stint, keeps everyone entertained.
