Thread regarding Textron layoffs

I thought morale was going to get better

Honestly, how much work do you have and how busy are you? There is so little work to be done in my case, that I have nothing to hope for but that they will very soon tell me that I am no longer needed. I haven’t found a better job yet, and I feel pretty useless here. I thought that the situation would improve, that I would have enough work to do again, and that morale would have to improve with that, but no, I was wrong.

The problem really is the aging staff complex. I would say that more than half of our workforce is nearing retirement and either won't or can't retire; Thereby denying upward opportunities.

Maybe if they got rid of the 75% of dead weight there would be work and they could save some money. The new apprenticeship program should let some people know it's time to retire or be forced out.
