Thread regarding JCPenney layoffs

Remember when?

We had legitimate reviews that provided us with adequate raises? Our schedules were realistic and we had appropriate time off. We weren’t overworked due to a shortage of staffing. Retail today has changed so quickly. It seems the new norm is to hire part time unskilled workers as long as they had open availability. Is it any wonder many of us are looking to leave for other careers?

You’re right and…this is all by design. This really started taking hold during the Ron Johnson years. Working at JCP doesn’t benefit you much. The wages are really low even by retail standards.

This is why you can’t find good help at most brick and mortar stores. Again…done by design. I’d rather shop online anyways. Being badgered about credit when I can’t find what I’m looking for isn’t my idea of value.
