The situation I found myself in is a bit ridiculous and I thought something like this could never happen to me. Now I have a coworker who thinks he’s my boss. The reason is very simple, he knows he is favored and I guess it he thinks that gives him the right to behave like that.

or just tell him to get "F'd", keep doing your job until you find another one. Most will be gone in less than 5 yrs anyway goet out while you can.
If you've got the skills, get out.
I gave myself a 22% pay increase by moving to the legal industry and becoming a tech there, and now I get a couple of bonuses a year too. The only two benefits that diminished are my PTO days and I don't get to go to the DST Royals suite once a year.
Well worth it.
Just plan on leaving. i was right out of college and went to work for DST. They offered me a small raise, so I left - went to a competitor and got 45% more in pay. Yes I almost doubled my pay. Staying at DST would have been a huge mistake for me. To be honest, I don't feel the management cares about its workers at all. Ever heard how Hallmark or H&R Block compensates its performers? Generously! Thats how!
Yeah, I had the same thing happen. So do these: 1. Ask him what percent raises you might get next year, 2. start asking him alot of insurance questions and let him know you expect him to get back to you on them. If smart "coworker" will say : I am not your boss. Then you repeat that back several times and apologize for making that mistake. If that doesn't work, wait one night till his Manager that favors him is gone, yes work real late, then place an anounomous note under that person's keyboard saying that "coworker" thinks your incompentent and wants your job. Nothing will cause him to fall out of favor like that. Just dont get caught on a security camera. use interoffice mail envelop as an alternative. Every Boss at DST must be paranoid about underlings taking their jobs and replacing them for less money.
