Seems like there is a large top-down push to get projects tied up for September/October from management, right around the mid-year review cycle and entering of graduates. Even individuals are being pushed to document and tie up their work under the guise of greener pastures.
Roadmaps are already being pulled in and many Softbank era projects have now reached the market, so we enter a lull. Maybe this is just the nature of the 3-4 year cycle finishing up but the headcount quotas expire on September 5th in the UK.
