Accenture has just acquired the firm I work at. Questions.

The small (~4500 employees) firm I work at has just been acquired by Accenture. I don't work on the engineering or technical side of the business, I am a technical recruiter with a speciality in IT / engineering.

From the sounds of it Accenture is acquiring us for our services and niche expertise in our industry area, and our recruitment team is small (4 + a manager).

It seems like my department will become redundant as soon as the acquisition is complete. Does anyone have experience being acquired by Accenture? Did your internal functions employees (HR, IT, etc, etc) get let go?

they bought my company in january and I was just let go. It looks like they are hiring a bunch of people and letting others go

It appears that Accenture is hiring like crazy in Recruiting, so I am sure you will be fine!

They will take you on for now, bet you and give you time to get to learn their ways and see if they can leverage you. If not, they will eventually exit. Assimilate or go!

If you take a closer look, most of Accenture’s growth in the last 5 years in regards to capabilities, revenue and employee size is not actually organic and is all through scooping up other companies and making them assimilate to the Accenture Way of the New New New. Good luck! It’s a beast of a machine.
