Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

Expecting transparency from Broadcom is a utopia

Is this one of the least transparent companies you’ve ever worked for?

I have never worked for a less transparent company. I understand that the employees of the company everywhere are the last ones to learn important information, but such a lack of transparency as it is here is horrible and humiliating.

Leadership knew there was no money in the budget for merit increases in FY21, but continued to act as though they were goi go to be paid. Once the budget for FY22 is finalized, HT needs to come clean in terms of whether money was budgeted for merit increases in FY22. This information was purposely withheld from employees after the FY21 budget had been finalized.

Ha! now the app update asks you about the experimental jab every day! Why scare people to take the jab when you can treat WuFlu with medication that was approved in the 1950s? This is going too far!

it's less transparency and more hearing about it at the 11th hour.

also you make the assumption that there's something being hidden, a secret plan. there isn't other than whatever screwball acquisition they're thinking about. the focus is on looking busy, making others look bad, and waiting for next quarter's RSU.

anyways there are plenty of jobs out there. but if you're old or not an A player you're hosed. this place is never going to change. the equity has locked in layers of toxicity at many levels...be very careful who to trust...put an exit plan in place and work it.

as other poster mentions your manager matters more than anything. there are many retreads who came over from a certain "dying" tech firm. and that has set the stage.

Broadcom is very transparent actually. Hock only cares about money and renewals but he doesnt care about your career growth and no raise for 2 years. You are just a number and you are replaceable (except a 65+ mainframe SME then they'll throw money at you not to retire). There is no career growth only if you ex-IBM exec buddy. Economy getting much better and jobs appearing again elsewhere.

Some managers very secretive but if you have a good manager your okay here for now.
