Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Today Broke Me

I try to work hard to support the customers we have left and the good employees trying to help them, but we have soo many horrible employees it's impossible. From sales teams driven by managers who don't give an F%$# about what is suitable for the customer to engineering personnel who are burnt out and don't care, we have them all. Management wants to know why customers don't want to do business with us, but why would you be surprised if you have id--ts running accounts. The sales management is even worse, most of them don't even know what we do.

When we have a resource that gets it right like the cloud team, the dip S%$&s push them out of the business. How that North American cloud guy is still here is beyond me. He should stop wasting his career and leave; he is just lighting his career on fire.

The worst part is our regular sales teams treat you with no respect and regardless of how essential you were during the pandemic or how you supported deals. Those guys in the North East are even worse, they treat people like they are subhuman. IDK why I continue to help them when it isn't my primary job. F&$^ this place, I am out...

It helps when you have products you CAN sell. Who wants to buy an overpriced and feature-stripped repackage of someone else's packaged service?
Meanwhile, customers are clamoring for services other companies have offered for years, while SGAS has no plans for them, or teases that they're 'coming soon' but with no specifics.
Why is anyone surprised that the remaining customers want to do downgrades as they're in the process of migrating to better solutions elsewhere?

Or AEs basically just doing downgrades. I have forgotten what it's like to work with AEs who sell something new.

@8eep+1bnmu76H

Do you have the added bonus of five little buddies in a faroff land breathing down your neck, each trying to make themselves look good? "Hallo I need audit for audit for an audit so maybe I can milk 15Rs. from customer".

Frankly, it's fun to see even the customers ignore these mo--ns. I've watched more than one AE basically talk to thmselves for weeks.

Projects I work as of late have the single purpose of making the operation statistics 'look good' and there's little regard to quality of service.

You mentioned the cloud guy, what about the fact that we only have one engineer that can reliably discuss and design network. This is a house of cards built on a few people holding things together.

It's funny how we are stuck in place. Do the same thing every time hoping it works out. Insanity much?

I heard SunGard just outsourced its toilet paper to the Philippines to save $0.30 a roll. How is this place still in business? MRR must be below $10m at this pt

The reason for the existence of this board is so people can vent and gripe about their grievances. If you come on this board to talk about how good things are at Sungard (on a layoff site of all things) then you are sorely mistaken and won't get the up votes you crave. Why don't you make your own board and invite like minded individuals so you can all p--- down each other's backs.

I can't believe sungard still exists ... have they offshored to saudi arabia yet? 10 workers for the price of one ... always looking to cut costs!

@1yqz+1bnmu76H if you are not here for "baseless and vague allegations on an anonymous message board" why are you here? Your A$$ hurt from riding that high horse?

stop complaining on an anonymous message board. baseless and vague allegations are more toxic than the employees you are complaining about.

@bpa+1bnmu76H - if life is so good at Sungard, why are you on this site?
Sales have been dropping off for years, not necessarily a fault of sales when trying to sell 'not fit for purpose' products. Sungard is and has always been so far behind the curve in terms of technology and offerings.

So easy to complain. We are on the frontline trying to sell the $h|t services you provide and the northeast is the best sales group in SUNGARD. We keep revenue in the door so you have a job to complain about. Shut up, know your roll, and act your wage.

At least we give them nice plaques and glass awards they can put on Linkedin! Everyone else gets an HR Team's call. #failupward
