AB is not a CEO at another company, he is President of Customer Engagement, which he did little of while at SGAS. I worked with him on several opportunities, he brought nothing. There is no secret plan, there is no new recovery automation tool. Someone asked it best, are you fulfilled? Are you valued? Are you challenged? The only challenge you all face is why are you staying and how will you face your families when you are caught flat footed and no job? I left on my own, because three years ago, my answer to all three of those questions was NO.

"AB was the guy and he drafted some secret outline."

That's cause back then AB was mediating the transition to the new leadership. I have it on good word from a director who learned about this. He said the previous CEO had a strong relationship with AB, AB was like a right-hand man, and in business he was always tactical. A sales person said that AB had aggressive ideas to turn sales around but the BOD was taken aback and was kind of in a paralysis not knowing how to proceed. So it doesn't surprise me that he worked on an outline for strategy. It's the buzz going around lately. Incredible. He's now a CEO for another company. SG really lost an amazing tactician.

To the original poster, the company is suppose to turn around into positive territory according to some posters claiming a guy from the previous regime—a failed regime—left behind a strategic plan. AB was the guy and he drafted some secret outline. If true, we’re talking several years after that regime left and only now is MR and the gang looking into this plan. Makes no sense. From the posts around here, the plan also covers some new super duper recovery automation project. Good luck with that one.

AD and HG should enter into a staring contest to raise money for the next round of payroll

I heard yesterday that Menzies Distribution were now actively sourcing other parties to provide services currently provided by SGAS. So sad however If so expect more layoffs to follow.

Is it really surprising that we hear nothing from MR? They are all empty chairs at this point. MR, AD, all of them are just waiting to pull the chute. The Leadership still acts like nothing is happening and make goals for next year like we are a business making money. Everything I see is a company heading towards the falls with no plan on stopping the ship.

Yeah, strange that MR been so quiet. We usually get a Holiday email wishing everyone a good one etc - not so this July 4th.

Just ride it out. Make the money. Just be prepared. Who cares what they do. You think they are considering you when they make there decisions! You are just a head count. When the ax man comes they just look at headcount they don't look at the person they don't look at the background how long he's been here what he contributes doesn't matter it's just a number

When a company is broken up that is because part of the business is profitable. We don't have anything profitable. Well DR still makes money but those customers are leaving so fast that no one would buy into that 'growth' model.

Broken up and being sold off rumour has been around for years. Lip service on that one.

A few of my UK colleagues were let go on Weds. How the he-l can you run a service when cutting the resources trying to deliver it?
I'm hearing rumours of Sungard being broken up and sold off in bits as no one wants it as a whole.
How long left for this PoS firm? (I so miss the old days! :-( )

Giggles did the best that he could do with what he had. That's why he found another ceo gig so quickly, mark of success. He was still paid well right?

Most likely happening after the holiday. It’s not going to be pretty people. Nobody is selling new services, customers are fleeing and no new logos are coming in at the rate the leadership team wants.

People say blame the current board and leadership team but the real blame is the previous owners, board and giggles stern. They admitted they didn’t invest in newer technologies but would take the profits for themselves. This is typical of Private Equity companies; take the money and run. When declaring chapter 11, they made their money plus extra and walked away freely. It’s a complete joke how bad it has gotten in the years I’ve been here.

Leave now and forever hold your peace.

Nah - they turned the lights off in Wayne and the other sites and saved enough on electricity and toilet flushes to offset the every 2-week layoff
