I know it might not seem so to those who were laid off, but things will get better and chances are you'll end up in a better position than you were in here. I've been laid off twice so far (yes, I'm an old ge---r) and each time I ended up doing better than before. After the first shock settles, start sending out applications. The job market is great right now, so many companies are struggling to find employees that they're offering bonuses and other incentives to join. You'll be able to choose and leave this cr---y place behind for good. You'll be okay.
