Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Aberdeen

Only one thinks counts now!, achieving a good pay out, forget any talk of helping them out or transitions, generous payoff is required.

At least you guys don’t have to implement Cyberplan.

Probably makes sense to get rid of a few VPs at this point. Not much employees still working in equipment. Could probably cut straight to the sh-t by getting rid of VP Operations, VP Materials, VP of Sourcing.
It would make jo--t ventures that much more appealing to BH partners. Partners are taking most of the risk anyway. BH needs to dump these businesses and quick!

Aberdeen deserves all these closures after the rubbish management they had. They had the chance of getting the lions share of North Sea completions contracts but poor management fxxxxx it all up. Follows the same path as the drilling shambles.

This is all conjecture by people who know nothing.

Used to get a good package to stop everyone trying to go down the unfair dismissal route (ie could’ve done another job at the plant wasn't offered etc) but that doesn’t count in this case as the plant is closing

Yes copied and pasted to show what statutory is … ask any one from navigation if they got an enhanced redundancy!

If you were made redundant before April?, well that's relevant, not!, copy and pasted rubbish. You will get what they give you. They have in the past been reasonably generous, always much more than statutory

You’ll get:

half a week’s pay for each full year you were under 22
one week’s pay for each full year you were 22 or older, but under 41
one and half week’s pay for each full year you were 41 or older
Length of service is capped at 20 years.

Your weekly pay is the average you earned per week over the 12 weeks before the day you got your redundancy notice.

If you were paid less than usual because you were ‘on furlough’ because of coronavirus, your redundancy pay is based on what you would have earned normally.
If you were made redundant on or after 6 April 2021, your weekly pay is capped at £544 and the maximum statutory redundancy pay you can get is £16,320. If you were made redundant before 6 April 2021, these amounts will be lower.
£30k ?? Expectations waaay off

Pay off a few = enhanced package
Closure = statutory redundancy (capped)

Anything less than a well enhanced package for closure of a plant that's performed for near half a century would be a disgrace.
