Thread regarding Follett layoffs

And what's going to happen now?

After the sale of FSS was announced, I'm wondering what will happen to people now? I left a month ago because I had a feeling for a long time that something strange was happening, the atmosphere was terrible. I can only hope that there won’t be many layoffs because of some wonderful people who are still there.

Good grief. It’s a job. If you feel you’re “being abused” in your job, then you’re to blame when you continue to stay in such a job and just complain every day. You’re in control of what YOU can control. Move on and let go of the hate. Life is too short, people.

Imagine driving by a horrific wreck. It's no accident, the driver was drunk or texting or otherwise driving with no good sense at all. Still, you feel bad as you inch by. You can't help but look. You find the driver was a jerk who, along with his close friends and family, abused you for a few years. Yep, this feels like that. Only thing better would be watching a cop taze the jerk and handcuff him to the gurney.
These dopes earned every ounce of disdain you read on this page. You can't betray this many people without earning some deeply held negative feelings.

It's entertaining and very therapeutic. Many of us still come back to visit just for a good laugh. Some people come back as they're evil and vindictive and want to watch the Titanic sink. Don't get so bent out of shape because people are posting on this forum. It's all in good fun.

Many of us complained while we were still employed by that sh-t show. Could be the worst company ever. I’m sure it was once everything the family members say but not now. TL and his cronies ruined the place always taking from the employees to make sure there was enough cash to keep their relatives sauced up and rent free. I was in sales and I can tell you even our vendors made fun of the place.

It’s “loser” not “looser,” my friend. If you’d been treated as badly as me and my fellow employees were in the recent layoffs you’d still be on here a month later too just for the sheer amusement of hearing about the downfall of a 140 year old business at the hands of the 5th generation of loosers, I mean, losers.

The chairs on the Titanic have be rearranged for the last time. The family is fighting over the lifeboats, and band is playing Nearer, My God, to Thee. The loyal employees are going down with the ship.

Here is how it works folks. Follett sold to an investment banking firm. They are not looking to operate the status quo. They will cut to the bone and improve the bottom line. Then they will sell. If you know anyone at B&T talk to them. Follett almost bought them when they were fat and lazy in the 90's, then investment banking firm bought them and cut to the bone. It will not be fun working as focus will be only on bottom line. Good luck. God speed everyone.
