I don't know how it came about, it seems like it wasn't like that before, but now there are five slackers here for every hard worker? I understand, people have lost motivation and are doing only minimally what is expected of them, but the problem is growing because there are more and more slackers and less and less hard workers. I hope it doesn't sound harsh, but I feel very demoralized when I feel totally burned out while I know that someone else is actually having fun at work (who will one day be in a better position than me when the layoffs come)

Halliburton becomes the ex-wife after every layoff. They take and give nothing.
“Clue less management” does what is appropriate to keep the department floating, even if it means making some heavy lifter dissatisfied! In my books that is not clue less but being smart and practical!
Busting ar-e doesn't equal higher focal point. Your dedication to your job does not equate to higher focal point. Because in the end the clueless management team will divide focal point up evenly to not pi-s off the entire team
I too completely agree with the comment “if you are not winning - you are losing”.

Before you can get promoted up, current boss has to agree to let you go. This if you are worthless your boss will willing let you go. If you work, you’ll never get promoted. Truth
Yep, same boat. Busting a-s and covering responsibilities from other districts. They don't promote people like us because it'd be too hard to find someone to do all that same work. We are penalized for working hard and slackers are moved up the ladder.
