Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

For as long as these remain temporary layoffs, I'm good

In our work, everybody should have enough money to get them through a couple of weeks every once in a while. That's the nature of the beast. I'm just worried that furloughs might turn into something more permanent... It has happened before. I hope I'm worried for nothing, though.

I read an article saying GM was closing most of its plants due
to the chip shortage. How long are these furloughs supposed to last?

So what's the good word at GM? Another round of layoffs/furloughs?

As a 20 year GM person, I knew that lifestyle well. Was kicked out of GM in 2018 for something better, and it was the best move in my life. One door closes, and another opens. Walked in the door with four weeks paid vacation and an obscene amount of money that GM would have a hard time matching.

What's GM life like these days? Half of my co-workers have either retired, or are still employed in the game.

Did they EVER complete that 2020 open floor plan yet at the tech center - or was that abandoned?
