Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Widespread safety concerns

When the CEO did the last townhall, his main points were all about cutting costs. I’ve noticed within my organization how safety concerns are bypassed in order to protect the bottom line. I’ve heard it at other refineries as well. Serious life threatening issues are ignored. Anyone else seeing this also? It’s not if but when will we have a catastrophic failure! Keep good paperwork if you report things.

but yet we have a photography team that travels the country taking pictures, own a 4 star hotel, and serve executives chef-prepared lunches in the company dining room. Lost count of how many corporate jets we have now. Oh, and corporate is (still) 2-3 times overstaffed compared to any other refining company. Doesn't take a genius to figure out this wont end well for anyone.
