Good Luck - Life is Way better away from Follett!!
Whining? It's more like bitter criticism. There's many of us that put their heart and soul into this company. Yes, we've seen it go from and exciting place to work to watching it crash into the iceberg. Many of us are gone but continue to stop by this site to see what's going on. But now the party's over, they just announced last call, they're shutting down soon, time to go.
I’ve got all the contact information of the people I care about. Some people actually care about others. Can’t say the same for the guy or lady accusing me of whining. If it weren’t for this site, we would next to nothing about what’s going on with our company. Sales are not great in the post Covid world, we lost our biggest contract at ND, the company just sold FSS, our IT has been outsourced, much of HR has been outsourced, professors are getting wiser to OER and cheaper options. Schools want gift shops not necessarily bookstores, especially if they have a football team. These are facts! No one is whining! We’re here hoping someone has a soul at home office and gives a darn to give us a hint of what’s to come so we can best prepare. Remember the Follett Forward call? Remember that someone went off on leadership in the chat! That’s how frustrating it is to not have good, competent leadership! This company is dying. It’s not a matter of if but when!
Whine? Wow. You underestimate the loathing that former associates have for this company, the Family, and the pathetic management the Family has hired to run their company into the ground. 5 generation to ki-l the goose that laid the golden eggs. Truth REALLY hurts doesn't it?
To the OP: well if the rapport is SO good with the good people that are left, why not get their contact information before leaving? You just want attention (like everyone else that comes to this site to whine) and to be nosey so you can brag about the new company you’re at (if anyone will hire you). Leave and never look back on this dying industry and company (eye roll)
To the last commenter: your statement makes no sense. Why leave? Dying industry, uncertainty of when the other shoe will drop, systems that suck., etc. Yes I will come back here to see what might be going on after I leave. There’s a lot of good people working for this company. It’s sad that the industry is in decline and that people will loose jobs!
Why leave when you’re just going to come back to this site to see what “Follett” is up to.
Best of luck 🍀
