Thread regarding BNSF Railway layoffs

Bye, bye employees

Everybody is leaving or trying to find a way to leave. Even the new hires who've never worked in their lives before are seeing the writing on the wall and leaving as soon as they can. Nobody sane wants to stay here longer than they have to. At this rate, cuts will be completely unneeded. There'll be nobody left to fire.

Chiming in from another Berkshire subsidiary. We're seeing similar turmoil at GEICO and our upper management is dragging the company into the toilet. We stand in solidarity with our BNSF brothers and sisters in calling for better treatment, pay, conditions, and general working life. Stay strong fellow numbers.

This entire company is filled with supervisors who's sole success in their entire career is not being the target of some megalomaniacs rage on the morning call. All the iPads, analytical computers, and timekeeping technology in the world couldn’t save this place from the disease that is BNSF middle management. Who knows, it could all stem from the executive team but let’s be honest - they have no idea what is actually going on in the field.

2022 will be the another clown show as previous years. Shuffling around terrible managers to try to make them “fit” in other locations instead of terminating them, reducing craft manpower, and crying to the FRA for waivers solely to boost “the numbers”.

Think this is the tactic. Make it so miserable everyone quits and they can tell the ntsb we didn’t layoff there is just a shortage of employees. Their hands will be tied to gain employees they will just have to bring in contractors. The unions will fold and it will be the new railroad farmer could claim to fame to make more billions then they already do, and make the cover of trains and rails magazine. Good for you union for being buddies with the carrier and giving into the bs it’s going to pay dividends when you have no one left paying dues and the carrier has no reason to line your pockets anymore. The RRB will eventually run dry and will become a mess identical to social security. Corporate greed for the win the “brains of the operation” will not care because they will bonus themselves to financial security. Funny how the life blood of American goods can be so manipulated and ran so poorly which should be criminal. Big shout out to the FRA for the waivers on waivers and not caring for the safety of employees and citizens.
