Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

Feeling underpaid

A friend who went to a competing company now has much higher pay and much better benefits. Another colleague who left here, also for a competing company, does too.
I hear all the time about people who not only found relief since they left here but also got much higher pay. Is it possible that we are so underpaid here?

I moved to a smaller company and into a Coordinator role from an analyst and my pay increased $12,000. Yes you are getting screwed at Cummins. I was at Cummins over six years.

I agree with all of your opinions and I have actually witness a bunch of bu-----t working at Cummins Inc. It’s like people don’t believe there is better than Cummins Inc and end up realizing years later that’s a total lie. I hope reality will hit and people will start recognizing their worth as employees!

Chinese-Indian without a Green Card: Great pay, Cummins, I love you!
Chinese-Indian with the Green Card: We can make it appears we are overworked.
Whites/Bl---s: let us just talk about having fun at Cummins.
Others: Whatever,

There're a few good ones.

I got "laid off" as an engineer at Cummins in Dec 2015 and was making 84500.....I was nearly immediately hired by another southern indiana company (didn't even have to relocate) at 99400 and now making 115,200.......Cummins WAY underpays. Whatever they pay you when you get hired is basically all you WILL make with them minus the cost of living adjustments, which they don't even give in downturns.

Cummins pays well compared to other Southern Indiana companies but when you start looking at opportunities in Indianapolis, Cincinnati or Louisville, Cummins is barely matching the market. This is how Cummins has been operating for years. There are surprisingly large number of people who wouldn't consider opportunities in the nearby cities.

I get the impression that at cummins it's two things. People who got her and are new and needed at least something to start at and so they worked her until they where fired and/or quit. And two, their last attempt to stay in a job that somewhat pays good enough for lower indiana. So many exempt and hourly will take the abuse and such in order to make sure they are still getting paid. But I've always said sooner or later something is going to break and all he-l will break lose on all the cr-p that has been happening at the company.
