Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

This could actually be a very good company

Do you also think this is a great company considering how incompetent its leadership is?

Too bad, because if the top was better, I think this could be a company where people would actually enjoy working.

If it becomes WINFRO and Elliott doesn’t make outside leadership changes at top, it will become the worst ran business possibly in telecom history.

Spot on!

We are flush with cash or struggling to find our new business model.
It only makes sense to fold the wireline business into WinFro.

Big broadband plan in the stimulus. Joe Biden in big trouble. Impeachment started.

The Buffalo died long ago. The company is a Federally backed sham waiting for the next $3.5 trillion spending plan. You will get the 1 trillion dollar road and bridge package 9.26. The rest good luck. Elliott will be making their move after the partial or full failure of the bill. I have inside information at Elliott. The big talkers who play the system at Frontier........days are numbered. Frontier, Windstream. FroWin Telecom Inc.

A USA Today/Suffolk University poll last month found that the spending plan was supported by a bare majority, 52%, of Americans — and that was before Republicans began barraging the proposal with objections, aimed mostly at the price. (A “massive, reckless taxing and spending spree,” Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said last week.)

I half agree with this. Like many wireline businesses we missed the boat and now trying to tread water.

Post bankruptcy we still have a black eye in the market.

We lost the controlling share of the businesses to Elliot in private equity. The board doesn't have the same control that we had in the past.

Right way. Not write way. Typo on my part.

95% of the techs and construction are still here from Verizon. The ones that weren’t able to retire anyway. They know HOW to run an ILEC (the right way). Not the Frontier way. Dan McCarthy ran this place into the ground. Got his golden parachute and left. How he’s not in prison for all the shady dealings he pulled is one for the books.

I believe this company could be turned around. With the proper capital investment, the proper direction. There is currently no one that I’m aware of that has the upper leadership skills to take us there. That should be evident when their most valuable asset, technicians (especially in California) have to fight for a reasonable wage and contract to keep moving forward. Meanwhile, the incompetent leadership for takes bonuses for themselves with CAF and fed COVID money (meant for techs and hazard pay).

Is it possible someone at the top will have a clue and realize they can’t accomplish anything without their skilled craft employees that were trained by GTE and Verizon to do things the write way? Maybe. Is it likely? No. This company things they can compete into the future by using contractors. Contractors that don’t speak English and barely have an 6th grade education. Frankly, it’s insulting and I for one can’t wait to leave this place and watch it rubble.
