Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Why is vmware making such bad acquisitions?

I can't possibly understand why they decide to buy startups that everyone knows will be a debacle? Unbelievable. Is it incompetence? Are there any reasons I don’t understand? I hope I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain that it won't be long before they decide on another such bad acquisition.

He was toxic, divisive, liar, thief, incompetent,
manipulative, double standard, prevent productivity.

Virtually all manager, and many PE, hit at least 4 of those labels.
VSE, VC and VSAN needs more labels.

For the love of all that is sane report it anonymously to Etica and to the WCPO compliance team under T-A P. This is not ok.

Acquisitions are usually to increase assets and revenues (not profit) so bigger bonuses for execs. They really don't care about the company or employees. They will ravage and pillage the company for all its worth to increase personal wealth. Then when the realization comes that these acquisitions are bad based on financials, they get offered golden parachutes. Their bonuses are tied to these acquisitions.

1) The people making presentations are pretty convincing in the demo.
2) The people being presented are pretty simple in their ability to sniff out p00p.
3) The people being presented do not think existing employees can 'move the needle' in the same way as an acquisition.

Sometimes, you also have to sniff out how far down the street the presenter lives from the presentee.
