Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

A message to incoming Shell employees

On this forum you will find several bitter and tortured souls who were let go from ConocoPhillips years ago and still suffer from separation anxiety.
They will post messages about wanting to leave (they were already shown the door), they will post messages about how good it is to work elsewhere (nobody will hire them either) and they'll post messages replying to their own posts to make it looks like anyone actually cares about their negative outlook on life.
The one positive of this website is that it allows these poor people to vent their frustrations anonymously here, instead of taking it out on their spouse and kids.

HR loves to put the discretionary 401k bonus on your compensation sheet, but they haven't awarded the bonus in 2 years. Just a heads up.

The poster stated that the reduction in healthcare basically offset the 401k matching. What they didn’t mention was the elimination of pension for new hires. That is/was a huge change. I have always maxed out the 401k and my pension is 3X that balance. Of course it doesn’t matter if you are just hopping around from employer to employer.

eliminate 401k matching?

What company do you work for? The only way to do that is to change your contributions to zero. How is your d-mb decision the companies fault?

"Shell acquirees are in for a harsh new reality of micromanaging, macro-agressions, and mega-backstabbing."

Shell acquirees will be cheerful and full of positive anticipation to work at a company that is actually not apologizing for producing oil and gas .....

Surprisingly, you won’t find a lot of conspiracy theories nor vax vs. anti-vax talk. Mods delete it regularly.

Actually, you will only hear the side of COVID conspiracies that tlo wants you to hear. Notice that they removed the post about COVID being a man-made virus underwritten by the NIH and introduced just in time to influence an election outcome to satisfy socialist agenda of taking control of the population. Or have you forgotten your history again so soon.

I harbor no hard feelings to COP but in the last 5 years they reduced Health Insurance (because it was expensive), basically eliminating 401k Matching.

Not to mention an IT Upheaval.

No this place has gone down hill fast.

OP is another COP HR dweeb trying to get brownie points before the end of the year.
Do all of us employees a favor and lay your d-mb a s s off. Good riddance.

OP's prose sounds remarkably like a post during the Concho acquisition.

I wonder if legacy Concho staff still with the company agree with the rhetoric?

Thanks HR drone, you’re on the job as usual.
What you fail to point out is that there is much truth in the negative posts. There are many unhappy, disaffected, disgruntled, snd frustrated employees who know how much better things can be (and we’re). They are disgusted with “leadership” and petty managers lying, obfuscating, snowballing, bamboozling, and having no obvious regard for employed despite parroting “SPIRIT values” and other BS. Many of us have worked long and hard to build a career. We have added value only to see it sold off, squandered, mismanaged, or otherwise trashed. Paint us all as a single, lone scapegoat, but the facts are there for anyone to see. Shell acquirees are in for a harsh new reality of micromanaging, macro-agressions, and mega-backstabbing.
Buckle up kids.
It’s a long, bumpy ride to the bottom.
