Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

Those who refuse the shot?

Does anyone have any true insight as to what will happen October 4th for those without the shot in the US? I have mine, but there are still a lot of senior people in my office that do not. I can't imagine them simply whacking these people, but it would not surprise me. The blowback will be epic though.

I also caved into the pressure and I regret it. I have never been so angry. I fear they will mandate the boosters and I hope to be gone by then. The way HR handled requesting information overload for exemptions was SHAMEFUL! There is no privacy anymore.

At least two people are still working. The reply is a bit strange, along the lines of we considered your request for an exemption and at this time it is not necessary for you to get the covid 19 vaccination.

Today was the day; unvexd got whacked on LOA for 60 days-unpaid; if after that still unvexd they get terminated; no exemptions were approved. Octane the diktator is happy but the wrongful term lawsuits are going to hunt him

I am concerned about my boss. Two people already quit on him suddenly... watercooler says at least 1 more coming and then 1 or even 2 more once the bonus pays out. I hope he doesn't snap from the stress but he just might quit too why even bother.

Plano looked very empty today... more already quit or waiting on axe next week and they don't care anymore. Moral has never been this bad

Do you actually believe those numbers? In reality they can be making up any number they want. Even at 10%, if that is a lot of core R&D folks that is going to be painful. Does any other country have this mandate? From Hock's talk I would say no. Sounds like discrimination to me.

My guess is they get terminated without severance. There are less than 10% without the jab. If it was closer to 30-40% then the company would back off or keep extending deadlines, but Octane would love to cut 5-10% headcount if he could because senior people are expensive.

I told myself for months that I would never take the jab they can go to he-l etc but I ended up taking it because I could not find another job after months of looking. I am scared about the unknown effects and that no one has liability and I hate this company even more now. I need to double my efforts to find something new because setting foot in the office and reading every corporate email make me sick to my stomach.
