Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Last day for many taking VSRP

This is the last day for many taking the VSRP. I work in tech. It is sickening how the CIO sent an email congratulating the folks leaving. Most of them were not planning to leave. They felt the pressure to get out, and knew if they didn't take the package they likely would be fired later, with no package.

Let’s not forget the bank doesn’t care about anything other than making the most money possible. Getting out high salaries is all they care about, they could care less about the knowledge that walked out the door. All the cr-p they say about building communities they serve and people first is just a bunch of corporate junk. The only community they care about is the C level suite. They will continue to sacrifice as many people as possible to line the wallets of the top while saying how large of a problem income inequality is.

So many good people left because the offer was too good not to take and because they didn't like what was becoming of this bank.

For awhile after I left the bank I would get “hi, let me know how you’re doing” text and voicemail messages from the ex-Mgr who had never asked how I was doing while I worked there.

Found out later that they had pink-slipped my counterpart (at the other bank ) right before I gave notice.

That was fun. Good times.

@chn+1d5RFMcP You are mistaken if you think management cares about anyone that is leaving. The circus will go on no matter how many monkeys leave. Younger and cheaper monkeys will run and work the five ring circus. They’ll just put up a bigger tent.

Where are they consolidating technical functions? Outsourcing?

I wasn't planning to leave, but I am finally free of this hot mess. Now my manager will have to call someone else to get the answers to the test and take credit for them. Management will be shocked when they realize the ones that left through VSRP were the ones that kept the bank running. "Best of the Best", gone forever.

Shame on you, Kelly!
