Prices Climb: Will They Give Us Benefits Back

When the outlook was bad they slashed our benefits ruthlessly.

Will these benefits be given back now that cash flow is coming in strong and outlook is good?

Probably not.

The share plan was a slap in the face, our missing bonuses were substantially more than that. Shares that vest in several years away do absolutely nothing for the current situation.

Texgal, are you in management? Just wondering since YOU CAN'T READ. The question is clearly around the fact that all these conditions you're talking about are changing - specifically price. Headhunters are hunting. Benefits? Probably not making a return. BP is very quick to cut pay and benefits and lay people off when prices fall, but never as quick when they return. Just hoping they won't wait until too late to recognize the remaining talent, have all of them leave, and end up with a Macondo level cluster.

I must admit that I am very shocked about some of the commentary on this forum. We have just gone through a major pandemic and people are complaining that the generous share plan is not good enough? And while Fridays are gone it does mean we have a lot more flexibility to work less on the other days!

We did not get a share plan of any value. Even a person who cannot do math well will tell you that the share plan you speak of doesn't even keep up with inflation and averages out to about 10 or 20 bucks more per week yet you took our Friday's off away so we are working more hours and this offsets anything you claim to be giving us. The share plan isn't anything worth having. All of us would rather have our Friday's back. You also took our bonuses and BP balance and froze our raises this past year. When you gave us raises back they did not even match inflation so we took a pay cut basically.

The benefits here are not industry competitive at all. Don't sit there and act like we got some sort of good deal. You guys reduced our benefits and increased the work load substantially. Its a huge net negative for the employee but you guys tried to spin it. We aren't stupid.

They should double them based on the work load we are all under. They should triple them in fact.

Don't expect much though. They could care less about us. They care more about optics and politics. They cut our benefits then spent millions on the Ryder Cup sponsorship. Only the guys at the top benefit.

A competitor employee here. Out of curiosity, what benefits were taken away for you all at BP?
