"Hi Lockheed, it's me the SEC. Can you tell me about the $1.7B "non-cash pension settlement"?

October 26, 2021: Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman, LLC Notifies Shareholders of Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT) Investigation

...the Company was taking a $1.7 billion noncash pension settlement charge...

That's an awful lot of money going somewhere -probably out the door. I pulled the 3rd Qtr. 10-Q and right there on the bottom of page 12, there it is:

OK, so I am taking retirement due to the "mandate". I was planning to work a few more years but rather than deal with all the vaccination nonsense I checked with my money manager and he said I'll be fine.

How many others are doing the same? Maybe LM needs the pension funds to start paying people like me.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a company do this. Usually, it’s something that’s a little sketchy. That said, it’s also done to fund payouts when a company expects a lot of resignations all at once, or… a large layoff.

Of the three options, one and two are the most likely IMO.

I saw this the other day and still can't make heads or tails as to what exactly management is doing. This looks pretty "iffy" at best. I hope this is being investigated to the fullest extent.

More LM management shiftiness. Something just isn't right here.

Management bonuses? What else could this possibly be?
