If our leadership happens to be afraid that many would leave because of the mandate, they should stop worrying because more people will leave because of poor pay. Agree?
Everyone who left here now has a significantly higher pay. It is humiliating how much less I earn here than my former colleague, working in the same position as me, only in a new company.
The pay is great if you work in Havre or Alliance. Not so much if you work in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Minneapolis. Mechanical employees make $33 and hour. Where I am at, an electrician can make $40 and hour pulling wire for new home construction. The power plant is recruiting and starting guys at $45+ an hour! For the hours managers put in, their salary isn't impressive either. The mandates will be the final straw that breaks the camel's back for most who leave!
