I can guarantee you the people we have now were not promoted due to their hard work and commitment. The days when meritocracy meant something are long gone. Now it's mostly about knowing the right people and being a yes-man. That's the only way to get ahead here. And that's how we ended up with this many incompetent managers who suck at their jobs.
