If that is what they are hoping they are going to get bit in the a-s. Because alot of people have been quitting for other companies for higher pay and also better work conditions. This vaccine mandate is a poison pill for companies. Because cummins may lose 30% on top of the "10%" they are wanting.
I have heard at this time they are using the vaccine mandate to push out 10% of their employees so they don’t have to do a RIF this year. Let’s see what happens when more than that leave.
Probably because they are sending all jobs to India because they can pay them a lower salary then those in the USA. They do not always get the quality of work from those in this location but saving money is all they care about.
The Data Center in Columbus, IN closed last summer. Since then, they’ve been downsizing and restructuring big time to move jobs onto contractors. HCL and 3rd party contractors are consuming roles more than ever. HCL has been in bed with Cummins for over 15 years.
These are all salary/exempt roles from the now closed Data Center.
The outsourced roles are being paid much less than Cummins employees,
any benefits the contractors receive are provided by their service provider and not Cummins.
Cummins wins by providing a much reduced salary with no benefits.
Look for that trend to spill over into the COB, Sears Building, Tech Center and COM buildings.
Any Cummins office personnel in Columbus, IN are all in jeopardy of being replaced, without notice, for contractor incentives.
Probably going to be some since work has been slow for months for one and two so many people working from home you know the company is thinking we could have other people/contractors do the same thing for much less online why are we paying full salary? That is why those people who are so hip and saying I won't leave working from home should truly think on this.
Nothing is stopping the company from having your boss and HR to a zoom meeting with you one day and tell you that we will need to reduce your pay by 25% since your working form home because we don't think your putting out enough work. You can take it or leave it and if you leave they will use a contractor. I mean come on it's real easy if you can do it online they can too and for much less.
As for hourly techs (the above is for hourly working from home and exempt), they may have a layoff. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't decide to have an extra week/ put week or two put into the end of the year to save money. Yes we are doing good, but they don't want us bleeding out daily either from more money going out than in with certain dept..
Please let us know if you know something.
