Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

Where does the GED Manufacturing division fit, in the new GE?

GED Manufacturing doesn't seem to have a home in the new configuration. Changes might happen in 2023 and 2024, but tomorrow existing and potential customers will ask where we will be in 1,2,5 years. Does Richard Kenedi have an answer to this question? If not, manufacturing pipeline will soon drop to zero, and the division will lose people, resources and customers before anything can be done to save it. Or is that the plan?

I'm also wondering if it's even possible to sell this business, since Power has used some software from the GED portfolio. I'm not sure if this applies to manufacturing software.

It'd be great to sell it to a company, the question is how much time will pass before a buyer is found. As time passes, GED and their sw will lose value, and people will move away

From what I understood, this business is over for manufacturing and OG. The product map will be frozen to pump money into the Power/Grid offerings of GED.

The best outcome for everyone (customers, employees) is to sell it to a company that has intent to stay with this end market and wants to invest.
