Post any information about potential or actual Barclays layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Bereavement Delegated and insolvency moved to India effective end of 2022
Barclays has laid off ~10 (maybe more) people in its US Technology team in the last week - just 2 weeks before Christmas. Barclays deliberately chose not to wait till after Christmas/NYE because doing so would have meant they would have had to pay annual bonuses to the affected employees. Instead they are getting away with just paying a two-week severance.
One of the laid off employees included a pregnant woman (who the bank knew was pregnant).
Think about how callous senior management needs to be to decide to lay people off in this manner. Just waiting for a month would've meant (at most) a few hundred thousand dollars extra in base pay + bonus for the affected employees. Which is basically the bonus of just ONE average investment banker. Also important to recognise that Barclays is (heavily) expected to pay their investment bankers a hefty bonus in 2022 vs 2021. Corporate scumminess at its worst.
