If the economy turns around, do you anticipate any Shaw Communications layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Well, they usually follow in Telus footsteps. 6000 is a lot of people !
It will be easier to keep the Rogers staff and purge the Shaw staff. Imagine the push back of “ doing things differently “ with a new company. Lots of tenured staff will free up cash for cheaper labour . It will be messy in Shawville.
It’s official! Let the corporate downsizing begin.
People out west are slowly being asked for “ early retirement “ so it has begun the cost cutting measures and pre merger salary cleansing .
Yes, word on the street that there will be many layoffs due to redundancy mostly in middle management . Shaw staff get prepared for a lot of “ synergy” to take place . The buyouts most likely will not be as generous as the 2018 volunteer departure program.
Dust off those resumes for the Shaw staff for sure . Too much redundancy . Curious why the Victoria call center is still vacant and not even a hybrid model ?
My guess is that over the next two years, half the Calgary Shaw staff will be laid off. This is because of the merger with Rogers. Eventually, the executive and senior management jobs will shift to Toronto, where Rogers head office is located. The Calgary Shaw Office will probably become like a big technical support office for western Canada.
