I completely agree with Lisa based on my personal experience. I got layoff in June and almost everyone with my title got layoffs or will be send home. I was part of the equipment sale teamb on the BSNA (Building Solutions) division. They're focusing on controls, fire and security not equipment. JCI is passing the equipment to local reps. They may have noticed that they overextended on BSNA offerings and drifted away. Is my opinion that big plans is to spinoff York or keep the "the cows with the farmers": York with equipment, BSNA with the service and everything "blinking lights" related and every other brand and product on its own swim lane with each distribution.

They had layoffs in June, with rumors of many more coming in the next month. Everything at JCI is driven by shareholder value and stock price, not basic business sense. For this reason, the company stopped all 401k contributions for a year (and used the employees money to buy back their stock. Then they laid off a huge number of their sales force. They are consolidating real estate in every market, and the rumors are that they are preparing quietly to exit the field operations side of things, focusing on manufacturing only for things other than hvac. This makes a lot of sense, since ALL of the executive team landed at JCI after leaving GE. (before they got there, the GE stock was worth owning. After they left, not so much). Lots of changes are rumored. (*this is an opinion and should no tbe considered investment advice in any way)

It is almost a certainty that JCI will continue down the path of downsizing as the economy struggles.

I too would like to know if JCI planning any layoffs soon. Would actually like to be on list of those being let go. There seems to be budget for restructuring.
