As a contractor to the Federal Government, the NA Site Committee has decided we must comply with this Executive Order. Given the continued disruption caused by the pandemic and similar policies enacted by major US employers, Lenovo is requiring all US-based personnel (employees and contractors) to be fully vaccinated. As a result, by January 4, 2022, all US employees and contractors must provide proof that they have received their final dose of an approved vaccine. Employees who cannot receive the vaccination due to medical or religious reasons may request an accommodation for this employment requirement. More details on Lenovo’s Vaccine Policy and the process to upload proof of vaccination or request an accommodation will be shared next week.

Despite the Federal Judge stopping the execution of this Exec order of the vaccine mandate, Lenovo is going ahead with it. These Brandon Mandates are illegal and should be stopped from being implemented. Also if you notice this vaccine policy of Lenovo's applies only to the US, not to Canada or any other GEO Lenovo operates in. This company used to be a good place to work, but not since this Na-i-based Mandate got implemented.

I asked the vaccine team about this and they gave me a ridiculous response. They say they are aware of ongoing litigation and this policy remains a company policy.
Based on the Q&A session, I anticipated that would be Lenovo's position, even if the Federal Mandate were dropped or blocked. Businesses can still implement their own policies in the absence of a government mandate. You can fight it, but I doubt Lenovo will change their position unless an impactful amount of people say No. Then you would see their position change. Money talks.

This has nothing to do with a vaccine mandate or the federal government. It has EVERYTHING to do with a potential cut to the workforce without any cost to the business. This is just another hidden layoff, where the employer does not need to pay severance or report the action to the government or media. Wake up.

Affected by this announcement? You’re acting as if you are being let go for no reason. You have ample notice to get vaccinated. You don’t want to. You know the consequences. Why do you need support? Like the two posts (@5psm+1dMSwoUP , @5vsh+1dMSwoUP) said, it's your right to refuse, but it's within Lenovo's right to terminate you. Most of the US is at-will employment. You can get fired for just about anything except race, religion, se-ual orientation, or anything else a lawyer might actually be interested in defending.
The content of your post is good, delivery is not so good. The reality is folks, if you are vehemently opposed to the vaccine that is absolutely your choice. The US is great because you can make the choices you want. But even as kids we had to deal with consequences for all our choices guys cmon. If you choose to not take the vaccine, you choose to risk your employment with Lenovo. That much was clear on today’s call. At least now we know for sure and don’t have to speculate on this site!

I couldn’t agree more. These people have every right to refuse to be vaccinated but be prepared to accept the consequences too. The rest of the civilized world would like to get back to normal and if these people losing their jobs is the result then so be it.
